This is the variegated form of Tulbaghia violacea and is an easy and adaptable plant with umbels of lilac flowers that are produced from spring til autumn on 18" (45cm stems)- just remove flowered stems at the base as they finish to keep the display going. At the base there are semi-evergreen narrow, fleshy leaves that ommit an oniony fragrance when crushed. Excellent in small containers of a sunny, sheltered border & a good coastal plant. Protect in winter as this form is not quite as tough as the green-leaved form. Tulbagias are of South African origin.
